Bay firms line up big deals in China market
2010. 27 January
by Graham Skellern
(bayofplentytimes.co.nz) Bay exporting companies are making a strong push into the lucrative Chinese market this year.
More than 20 businesses are signing up for the Bay of Plenty delegation to the World Expo in Shanghai and to Tauranga's sister city Yantai on the northeastern coast.
Tauranga Mayor Stuart Crosby, and probably Tauranga MP Simon Bridges, will be heading the delegation and their presence gives the group more influence in organising official meetings and itineraries.
The Bay will have the use of the New Zealand Pavilion at the World Expo from July 19-25, where the local companies can host functions with clients and contacts, and promote their products.
The New Zealand Government, through NZ Trade and Enterprise, is spending $30million on the expo, which is expected to attract 70 million visitors.Source: www.bayofplentytimes.co.nz
