Four agencies shortlisted for Brand Australia

Australia is edging closer to the launch of a new brand for the entire country as four advertising agencies have been confirmed to be shortlisted.
Since August of last year, the Federal Ministry of Trade has been looking for pitches from advertising agencies in order to create a new encompassing brand to cover all export areas including trade, investment, education, and of course, tourism.
$20 million has been earmarked for the campaign, and now it appears the government has narrowed its choices to four different advertising companies.
M&C Saatchi, STW Communications, Sapient Nitro, ad George Patterson Y&R in partnership with Landor, are the four pitches currently being considered for the account. Running several weeks behind schedule, a new "Brand Australia" was expected to be launched by February, giving the country enough time to then arrange for its international launch in May at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
