General Motors will unveil a new global urban mobility concept vehicle called EN-V on March 24 in Shanghai,GM announced last week.
As the joint auto partners of Expo 2010, GM and SAIC are introducing their vision for urban transportation in 2030. EN-V represents the reinvention of the automobile and is part of the technology solution to making such a vision a reality.
Adopting a new automobile DNA that combines electrification and connectivity, EN-V promises to address the challenges of global urbanization and offer a future vehicle model free from petroleum and emissions and free from accidents and congestion while making driving more fun and fashionable.
At the 2009 New York auto show, GM described the Segway-developed PUMA as a vehicle that could "allow people to travel around cities more quickly, safely, quietly and cleanly - and at a lower total cost. The vehicle also enables design creativity, fashion, fun and social networking."
With such an ambitious name as EN-V (Envy-sounding), some people may doubt GM will just slap a different sticker on the PUMA and call it "new" and wonder just how much is learned from the two-wheeler without a driver, said a motobullet.com news report.
