(allafrica.com) Rwanda will take part in the forthcoming world exhibition in Shanghai, China that will run for six months.

The shanghai Expo 2010 that is organised under the theme "Better city, better life" will take place from May 1 to October 31, 2010.

"We are in the final phase of construction of the stand and its inspection was done last week to ensure it's ready on time," said Ephrem Karangwa
in charge of promotions and fairs at the Private Sector Federation (PSF).

He said that Rwanda will take this opportunity to showcase its products that include tea, coffee, handcraft, the Kigali master plan and give information about Rwanda.

Karangwa also added that Rwanda will use this platform to showcase its export potential and attract investors to the country.

The exposition is to bring together 154 countries and Rwanda is one of the 43 countries exhibiting under the African Pavilion.

Each country has been asked to choose a national day within the six months interval where all eyes will focus on a particular nation.

Under the theme of the exhibition, each country will depict the different strides it is taking in the urban development vis-à-vis environmental conservation.

Rwanda has been granted a 55 square meter stand for its commercial activities and five handcraft companies have already confirmed participation.

These expositions are known to average 200,000 visitors per day. In total, up to 70 million visitors are expected during the expo.

Rwanda will ship the products to be exhibited to china next week and in addition to them, the country will be portrayed as a pleasant tourism destination.
