60 ambassadors at Shanghai Expo

Sixty volunteers will give up their personal time to become ambassadors for Singapore at the Shanghai World Expo this year.
The recruitment process started in December at tertiary institutions here. Singaporeans based in Shanghai or with experience working in China were also recruited.
Volunteers were picked for their understanding of Singapore's culture and history, and will undergo a tailored three-day training programme. Developed by the Singapore Tourism Board with the help of NTUC Learning Hub, it will guide volunteers on service etiquette, cultural norms in China, as well as the latest developments in Singapore tourism and the expo's theme of urban sustainability.
World Expo 2010 Shanghai, to be held from May 1 to Oct 31, is expected to attract 70 million visitors.
