Haier official sponsor of US pavilion

2010. 8 April

(english.people.com.cn) Haier America has signed an agreement with the U.S. pavilion at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo making it the official sponsor.

"We are honored to have Haier join the U.S. pavilion as we offer an extraordinary experience to Expo visitors," said Jose Villarreal, commissioner general of the U.S.pavilion.
"The Shanghai World Expo is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase American values, technology and innovation to the world and we appreciate Haier's tremendous support."

According to Richard Block, vice president of marketing for Haier America, the sponsorship will provide a meaningful platform on which a close connection between Haier and American consumers will be forged. The theme of the U.S. pavilion is "Rising to the Challenge," which complements Haier's marketing goal. Innovation is at the core of Haier's corporate culture and they have effectively established a close cooperation with the U.S. pavilion on the basis of shared values.

Covering an area of 6,000 square meters, the U.S. pavilion is one of the largest national pavilions at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. It is a sustainable building combining solar panels, rainwater systems and roof gardens. Visitors can experience the many aspects of the United States showcased by multimedia videos and audio. They range from geographic landscapes to warmhearted greetings from the American people and inspiring movies centering on optimism, innovation and cooperation.

The United States is a starting point for Haier's globalization and drive to be a world-renowned brand. With this goal in mind, Haier established an industrial park in the U.S. in 1999. Now, Haier America has become a leading provider of home appliances in the United States.
