Commissioner general for Expo 2010 pays visit to Bucharest

(roumanie.com) Chinese Commissioner general for Expo 2010 Shanghai Ambassador Hua Junduo paid a working visit to Romania over June 5-9 2009, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Cristian Diaconescu, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs in a release remitted AGERPRES on Tuesday.
On the talks agenda between Chief of Romanian diplomacy and Commissioner general for Expo 2010 were aspects of joint interest on the phase of Chinese authorities preparations for the organization of EXPO 2010, the phase of Romania's preparations for participating in the most important international event in 2010, as well as aspects related to the programme of events, to be organized by Romania on the duration of the 6 months of the world exhibition and the post-expo strategies planned by the Chinese organizers (respectively the possibility to keep on the built national pavilions as centers of economic, cultural and scientific exchanges).
A seminar took place on Tuesday at MAE headquarters, dedicated to Romania participation in EXPO 2010, in the presence of state secretaries representing the ministries which form the exhibition organization commission. Progress made in the process of Romania getting ready for EXPO 2010 were presented.
On this occasion, Commissioner general for Expo 2010 Shanghai underlined that our country pavilion - 'Greenopolis' - is extremely interesting and it may represent an exhibition reference point for the other pavilions built on EXPO 2010 site, given that it illustrates so well the general theme of this world exhibition 'A better city, a better life', and for presenting the current urban social development in Romania.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinates Romania's participating process in Expo 2010 Shanghai, set to take place over May 1 - October 31.
