Macau Pavilion continues to shine

2010. 10 May

(macaudailytimes.com.mo) More and more visitors were attracted to the Macau and Tak Seng On Pavilions, despite the number of people entering the Shanghai World Expo venue reported a decrease after the Labour Day holiday in the mainland.

According to a press statement from the Macau Preparation Office for the 2010 Shanghai Expo, more than 12,000 people visited the “Jade Rabbit” and Tak Seng On Pavilions from May 6 to May 7, representing an increase of 35 percent.

Situated next to the China Pavilion, the design of a rabbit drew a large crowd of people to line up in order to see what the Macau Pavilion has to offer.

Last Friday in the morning, over 100 people were already waiting outside before the Macau Pavilion opened.

Entering the normal days after the May 1 holiday, the Macau Preparation Office said fewer visitors went inside the Expo venue, but in contrast the Macau Pavilion reported an increase in its guests. Ms Huang, from Jiangsu, has never been to Macau, but said the rapid development of Macau and its unique east-meets-west culture were making her think of travelling to the SAR.

Mr Li from Fujian said that he heard Macau was a “nice place”, and the visit to the “Jade Rabbit” Pavilion gave him an “even better impression” on Macau.

He also praised the projection equipment in the pavilion that allowed visitors to have a brief understanding of Macau in just 10 minutes.
