Taipei Mayor Hao leads delegates for Taipei Culture Week

Taipei Mayor Hao Long-bin leading delegates took the first direct flight between Taipei SongShan Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Shanghai Monday morning to attend the Taipei Culture Week activities, featuring local arts, technologies and culture, the local media reported Monday.
Taipei Culture Week held along with the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, is scheduled to run till June 28 in several cultural venues such as Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Concert Hall and Shanghai Art Museum, the report said.
Six major programs include visual art exhibition, Taipei Day at the World Expo, performances, cultural creativity exhibition, cultural forum and Flora Expo outdoor exhibition, aiming to introduce Taiwan traditional and contemporary art to Chinese audiences.
Pop star Wang Leehom will cooperate with Taipei Symphony Orchestra to give a performance on Taipei Day, June 16, also the Dragon Boat Festival. Leading Taiwanese opera troupe, Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group, will present the well-known the Legend of White Snake the same day, according to the report.
