Expo-2010 hears about preparations for Asia Pacific summit

(en.rian.ru) Preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit and Primorsky Territory’s investment potential were on the agenda of the territory’s presentation at Expo-2010 World Exhibition.
“Thanks to the APEC 2012 summit, Vladivostok has a good chance of becoming an international communication center for Russia and the countries of the Asia Pacific region,” Olga Kurilova, head of Primorsk Terriory’s regional development agency, said.
Integration with the countries of the Asia Pacific region is of vital importance for the economy of Russia’s Far East, Kurilova said, adding that the Primorsky Territory could play a leading role in this process.
The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Over 200 states, corporations and international organization take part in the Expo. Over 48 million people have visited the event since its opening.
