Wiz World Partners with Chinese Gov't

(virtualworldsnews.com) 8D World, the creators of language-learning virtual world Wiz World Online, today said it was working with six Shanghai government agencies and Shanghai Oriental Digital Community to launch the "Wiz World Cup" oral English competition. The alliance is in anticipation of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Wiz World is designed to help young English learners improve their spoken English. The competition and partnership is sure to elevate the visibility of the product in its launch market, China -- and while the company is initially focusing on kids (age 7-to-12) in China, it has long-term plans to expand globally. 8D World received venture financing last year from Spark Capital and Gobi Partners.
