Merchandise Outlet Tender for Singapore Pavilion

2009. 30 July

(asiatraveltips.com) The Singapore Tourism Board has launched a tender inviting companies to bid to design, supply and manage the merchandise outlet at the Singapore Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China.

The 62.2 square metre standalone merchandise outlet will be located just outside the entrance to the 3,000 square metres Singapore Pavilion.

With Urban Symphony as its theme, the Singapore Pavilion, which is designed to resemble a music box, is expected to draw up to 10 million visitors at the World Expo 2010 and bring them through a musical odyssey to discover Singapore’s transformation into a vibrant city to live, work and play.

Mr. Ken Low, Assistant Chief Executive, Marketing Group, STB, said, “We see the merchandise outlet as an integral part of the Singapore Pavilion where visitors can take away with them souvenirs and merchandise that will relate to and remind them of the Singapore Experience, as well as commemorate a significant event in time. We hope the range of merchandise will be in hot demand and appeal to all ages and nationalities, and convey elements of fun, culture, style and all things Singaporean.”

The tender invites companies to submit credentials and proposals for services covering the six month period of the World Expo 2010 from 1 May to 31 October.

The successful company will be awarded a license to conceptualise the merchandise outlet and manage its retail operations.

The closing date for the submission of proposals is 31 August 2009.
