The Four Special Representatives of the S&ED

(fmprc.gov.cn) President Hu Jintao's Special Representatives, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan and State Councilor Dai Bingguo, and President Barack Obama's Special Representatives, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who are attending the first meeting of the China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) in the Washington D.C., unveiled the model of the U.S. National Pavilion for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo in the U.S. Department of State.

Wang Qishan said at the opening ceremony that the U.S. National Pavilion is very important to Shanghai World Expo.

Hillary Clinton said that the Shanghai World Expo will provide U.S. companies and organizations with an unprecedented opportunity to showcase themselves in Shanghai, an important business and cultural center in the world.

The four Special Representatives and other people present at the ceremony all acclaimed when the white model of the U.S. National Pavilion inscribed with red words "United States" was unveiled.

On the morning of July 10, the representatives of the two sides signed the exhibition contract in Shanghai confirming the participation of the United States in Shanghai World Expo. On July 17, the U.S. National Pavilion laid the foundation. The U.S. is the 240th exhibitor officially confirming the participation in the Shanghai World Expo.

It is reported that the U.S. National Pavilion will showcase the core spirits of "sustainability, teamwork, health, hard work and accomplishment" and display the cultures and traditions of the American people under the theme of the Shanghai World Expo.
