Sinovel Wind and Goldwind Science and Technology with Taiwan-based Teco

Sinovel Wind and Goldwind Science and Technology, the two largest China-based providers of wind power-generating solutions and equipment, expressed their willingness to cooperate with Taiwan-based Teco Electric & Machinery to tap markets in China and other countries at a Taiwan-China Wind Energy Forum taking place in Taipei on August 17-18.
In response, Teco chairman KC Liu indicated the company plans to cooperate with China-based makers in the form of strategic alliance. Teco has set up a factory to assemble wind power-generating equipment in southeastern China and has cooperated with many sales agents in main cities of China, Liu said.
Sinovel is setting up an offshore wind power-generating farm consisting of 34 generators, each with 3,000KW (kilowatt) capacity, near Shanghai, with completion scheduled before the opening of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the company indicated.
Goldwind has installed more than 5,000 wind power generators around China and expects revenues of over 10 billion yuan (US$1.46 billion) for 2009, according to the company.
