AU Commission chairman visits Shanghai

(news.xinhuanet.com) African Union (AU) Commission Chairman Jean Ping hailed Africa-China cooperation on Friday during his visit in China's economic powerhouse Shanghai.
The traditional state-to-state cooperation between African countries and China has developed into multilateral cooperation between China and the whole African continent, Jean Ping said.
Jean Ping made the remarks at Tongji University where he saw the design model of the AU conference center. The project of the AU conference center, which is under construction with Chinese aid, is expected to be completed in 2011.
This conference center is a witness to the new type of cooperation between Africa and China, said Jean Ping.
Jean Ping also went to the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination to learn about the progress of the construction of the African exhibition hall Friday morning.
He was satisfied with the construction and hoped that the exhibition of Expo 2010 could fully present Africa's development and features.
