UAE participation at Expo 2010 sheds light on progress in all fields

(wam.org.ae) Labour Minister and National Media Council (NMC) Chairman HE Saqr Ghobash, said the participation of the UAE at Shanghai Expo 2010, will highlight huge achievements attained by the UAE under leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and follow up of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He added that the UAE participation at Shanghai Expo 2010, which is poised to further enhance ties between the UAE and China, is the biggest ever in history of the UAE participation at expo fairs.

The remarks were made yesterday at the end of the meeting held at NMC to discuss the latest preparations for participation at Shanghai Expo 2010. Ghobash hailed the efforts of supervisory committee at the UAE pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010. He urged competent authorities to ensure participation of the largest number of national corporations in the areas of trade, economy and tourism to make the presence of the UAE felt at the international event.

"We are looking forward to register the strongest presence through sending clear message about our heritage, history and progress, as well as drawing attention of the Chinese people to consolidate our relations with them", he said.

Ghobash hopes many of Emiratis will participate at the event, thanking some major companies and corporations in the UAE which supported setting up of the UAE pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010, the largest expo of its kind, which is expected to draw 70 million visitors.

NMC is tasked to supervise and organise the participation of the UAE at the expo in cooperation with a number of ministries, national corporations, particularly, Al Masdar. Over 200 countries, regional blocs and international organisations will take part at 184-day long event, which will be held at land area spreading at 528 hectares at cost 60billion Chinese Yuan.
