Shanghai expo to show HK smart-card technology

(news.gov.hk) Hong Kong will showcase its extensive and creative use of smart-card technology at the World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China, Deputy Secretary for Commerce & Development (Communications & Technology) Alan Siu says.
Speaking at the 2009 Shanghai International Forum of Creative Industries today he said expo visitors will learn how these creative smart-card applications have brought convenience and efficiency to Hong Kong people.
"The design of the Hong Kong Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition will be innovative, highly interactive and forward-looking. Simulation devices, multimedia technology, animation and videos will be used to enhance the visitor experience," he said.
The expo will run May 1 to October 31 next year on the Huangpu River waterfront between Nanpu and Lupu Bridges.
Hong Kong will have its own stand-alone pavilion near the China Pavilion and will organise a series of events, activities and promotions before and during the expo period.
