Hua Hong NEC becomes sole maker of sensor IC tickets for 2010 Expo

(digitimes.com) Shanghai Hua Hong NEC, a China-based provider of wafer foundry services, has been selected to be the sole maker of sensor IC admission tickets for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, with such sensor ICs having passed official certification for volume production, according to industry sources in Taiwan.

The expo is estimated to attract a total of 70-80 million visitors, the sources indicated.

Hua Hong will focus on foundry business in the future, and it is working with Shenzhen IC Base for the offering of multi-project wafer (MPW) services.
