(drinksmediawire.com) The organizers expect some 100 million visitors, and Shanghai 2010's goal is to be the largest world exhibition in history. Taking place from 1 May to 31 October, it will last 184 days and cover 5.28 km² on the banks of the Huangpu river, south of the Bund and the former French Concession. Nearly a third of the surface area is devoted to 186 national pavilions and 47 international organizations that had confirmed their participation as of 23 March 2009.

The wines of France will be represented in the form of a book entitled:
Chinese Cooking and the Great Wines of France
published by the Class Agency in Bordeaux

The illustrated guide we have just published in Mandarin Chinese (please visit the internet version at www.bordeaux-wines.fr) ) has a long article about associating French wines and Chinese cuisine. This gave us the idea of publishing an entire book on this subject in both French and Mandarin for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo (100 million visitors expected, including 10 million at the French pavilion…). The purpose of this book is to show how to match the enormous diversity of French wines with that of Chinese cuisine, and to convince the Chinese to enjoy wine when they go out to a restaurant.
This beautiful, lavishly illustrated book will be launched at the 2010 Shanghai Universal Exhibition. We are accredited to promote and distribute the book by the French Company for the 2010 Shanghai Expo (Cofres SAS), in charge of managing the French pavilion.

The 8 main trends in Chinese cooking are associated with a range of great French wines selected according to two criteria: dependable quality and dynamic export sales, especially to mainland China. This bilingual book features lovely photos and a layout that is both sober and elegant...
