Xiamen to be first city making debut in 2010 Shanghai Expo

Xiamen will the first city among the world appearing in the 2010 Shanghai Expo, according to China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
It is the first time in the history of the world expositions that "city" has been chosen as the theme. The Urban Best Practices Area (UBPA) will be an extraordinary innovation in the history of world expositions, thus creating one of the most striking features of the Shanghai World Expo.
“On behalf of Fujian, Xiamen will take part in the exhibition of The Urban Best Practices Area with the theme ‘Easy living city, a garden on the sea’.” said Huang Xiaojing, governor of Fujian Province.
From May 2nd to 5th 2010, Xiamen will introduce its success stories in improving people's living environment, creating easy living city and improving the people's quality of life in the 2010 Shanghai Expo.
