Traffic for 2010 Expo Park to achieve

In order to achieve the green World Expo goal of "zero emissions" in the Shanghai World Expo Park and "low emissions" around the park in 2010, Shanghai municipal government and the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) signed the "World Expo New Energy Vehicles Promotion Project Agreement." According to the plan, Shanghai will replace over 4,000 public buses before the opening of the World Expo, and 50 percent of them will be environmentally friendly vehicles and vehicles that have met the National III Emissions Standard. New energy vehicles will become the mainstream vehicles operating in the park.
As the only enterprise that will offer public transportation services to the World Expo Park, Shanghai Bus Public Traffic Company will select purely electric public buses that have adopted quick battery replenishing technology according to the requirements of the Yuejiang public bus line in the park. The average distance between the stops of the newly-opened Puming public bus line is about 500 meters, super electric buses that are suitable for short distances will be implemented. For the two supplementary public bus lines (the north ring and the overhead track), sightseeing vehicles with hydrogen fuel cells will be available so that all public transportation vehicles in the park will be new-energy and environmentally friendly vehicles achieving "zero emissions."
