In a win for Queensland business, Allied Brands has signed an agreement with the Australian pavilion for exclusive rights to retail its products at World Expo in Shanghai during 2010.
From April through October, Cookie Man cookies and coffee, and Baskin-Robbins ice cream will be on show at the Expo for a predicted 70 million visitors.
In a company statement to ASX today, Allied Brands CEO Shane Radbone explains how the exposure will benefit business.
“This is a significant win the for company, with the provision of products to a cast audience and equally important is the opportunity to market the Cookie Man brand in the biggest expo held in the history of World Expositions,” Radbone says.
The contract with the Australian pavilion is another strategic partnership to complement the existing alliances with DFO’s in Australia and Delaware North.
“The ability to partner with the likes of the Australian pavilion at the World Expo in China is testimony to our strategy to find alternative sites for our brands, not just in shopping malls,” Radbone says.
Cookie Man already has 48 stores in India, 11 in China, 13 in Greece and one in Singapore.
The company recently announced the successful execution of a licence agreement for Cyprus and a Heads of Agreement for Kuwait.
