China Eastern Airlines Opens Office in Taipei

(tradingmarkets.com) China Eastern Airlines Corp., Ltd. opened an office in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 15, 2009, after its major mainland rivals China Southern Airlines and Air China set up their Taiwanese offices respectively in January and March.
China Eastern Airlines Chairman Liu Shaoyong predicted that a new era of aerial liners would start in the air transportation market across the Taiwan Straits.
The airway, located in the eastern mainland metropolis of Shanghai, has been titled to offer the most direct flights and get access to the most destinations across the Straits among mainland airlines. It will make use of its wide route network to supply passengers across the Straits with fast, expedite, and diversified services.
The Shanghai-based airway has become a selected carrier for the Expo 2010 Shanghai China. The Taiwanese economy will benefit from the Expo, and the two cities, Shanghai and Taipei, are destined to join hands in the future and form a win-win relationship, the chairman deemed.
